AMNESTY KIRKLEES PUB QUIZ – Tuesday, November 20th from 7pm at:
“The Corner” 5 Market Walk, Huddersfield, HD1 2QA
We are very much hoping to see you and some friends and/or relatives at “the Corner” on Nov 20th.
The upstairs bar where we are holding the event will be open from 7pm onwards, with the first round of questions at around 7.45. There is a small entry fee for the quiz (£1 per player) and a modest prize. This is because we aim to have an enjoyable and sociable evening rather than to compete ruthlessly for a glittering trophy and life-changing sum!
The questions will cover a range of general knowledge and so the quiz will suit teams with members who have varied backgrounds and interests. We expect the quiz to be over by 10pm, but those who wish to will be very welcome to stay on longer and get to know other Amnesty members better.
There will be other things to do on the night as well as the quiz. The Corner is also the venue for a new exhibition of paintings and drawings by artist and Amnesty member M.Valerio, which we hope you will enjoy browsing. Additionally, there will be a stall selling Amnesty badges, pens, and bags as well as a wide selection of books and leaflets linked to Amnesty campaigns.
We will also be holding a raffle with prizes that include some which will particularly appeal to fans of Huddersfield Giants and to shoppers at Sainbury’s and Iceland. (Even so, we would welcome more donations of raffle prizes from individuals or organisations. Please bring them along with you on the night if you have anything suitable to add.)
We are hoping that, all in all, we have the basis for a really enjoyable event that will entice you and several of your friends out of your homes to join us on Nov 20th. The more the merrier – and the greater the sum we can raise to help fight cruel injustices locally, nationally and abroad.
* This is not an “entry by ticket event” – just come along. It would help us though to know how many to expect so a quick email (email@example.com) to say how many you plan to bring along would be appreciated.
* “The Corner” is unfortunately an upstairs venue without a lift.
We hope to see you there,
